Quick Guide

1 Make your way to Suzaku City via Phoenix Bay.
2 Enter Suzaku Hall and challenge the Suzaku Leader.

Phoenix Bay

Ideally, you should have your Rookie Digimon at level 13-15 for this part.

The Digimon around this area will give a similar amount of EXP, so just fight as many of them as possible until you get to the desired level.

At this point in the game you should also have access to your first Ultimate digivolutions, so switch over to them whenever possible.

Having made your way through Jungle Grave, you will arrive at Phoenix Bay.

From the entrance, turn south and continue along the linear path.

The game will continue automatically, so just read through the dialogue.

Suzaku Leader Boss Fight

Suzaku Leader Details
Digimon Elemental Weaknesses Neutral Damage Elemental Resistances
Woodmon Fire, Machine Darkness, Ice, Thunder Water, Wind
RedVegiemon Fire, Machine Darkness, Ice, Thunder Water, Wind
ShogunGekomon Ice, Thunder Darkness, Fire, Machine, Wind Water

The Suzaku Leader is a relatively weak opponent, and will probably give you less trouble than the Seiryu Leader.

Woodmon and RedVegiemon will take a massive amount of damage from Fire and Machine techniques. Neither will hit particularly hard, so you should be able to quickly dispose of them.

ShogunGekomon will give you the most trouble out of the three. Occasionally, it will cast Confuse Gas, which, as the name suggests, has a high chance of confusing your Digimon.

Note: When confused, your Digimon will only be able to perform regular attacks. You won’t be able to use techniques, items, digivolutions, and you won’t be able to switch out either. The regular menu will be replaced by random commands – Laugh, Cry, Seduce, Confess, Mad, Leaving, Boast, Dance. There is virtually no difference between them, aside from the flavor text if your Digimon misses its action. Your Digimon will only have a 50% chance of performing its attack.

Keep exploiting ShogunGekomon’s weaknesses to Thunder and Machine technique. If your Digimon gets confused, the status condition will go away after 2-5 turns.

Heal through the damage as necessary. Ideally, you should use a Power Charge whenever your Digimon’s HP drops below 30%. But at the level 13-15 range, you shouldn’t have too many problems against the Suzaku Leader.

If you do struggle to beat her, return to Phoenix Bay and try to get to the level 16-18 range. As for your Ultimate digivolutions, try getting them up to Skill LV 25 in order to unlock a few techniques.

Once you defeat the Suzaku Leader, you will win the Suzaku Badge.

After the fight, head back to the Suzaku Inn, and you will run into Kail right in front of the building.

Kail will automatically take you back to Asuka City for the next part of the main story, in which you will have to sneak into the Admin Center.
