North Badlands E
After reemerging from the Seabed, you will find yourself on the pier in the West Sector’s badlands.
From the pier, turn west and then climb up the ladder.

The path will become linear going forward. Simply continue along it, then head north past the dogū heads to access the western part of the badlands.

North Badlands W
From the entrance, head north, then turn northeast past the boulders.

After getting past the first boulders, head north at the intersection, then turn west.
You’ll soon be able to turn northeast again past the other boulders, towards the glyph on the ground.

Head north past the glyph, ignoring the ramp on the right. Turn west at the end of the path, towards the other glyph.

Once you step on the glyph, turn north.
Continue north past all the intersections going forward.

The path will then become linear. Continue along it and head to the next area, Pelche Oasis.

Pelche Oasis
Once you enter Pelche Oasis, climb up the slope. Walk past Lisa, climb down the slope, and then continue west.

Continue west, then turn north past the third slope to enter the Noise Desert.

Noise Desert
After entering the desert, head north and climb up the slope.
Up the slope, keep heading north along the linear path.

Turn west at the end of the path, then climb down the slope. Once you’re down just head up past sharp stone, and then continue north past the cacti.

Once you get past the cacti, the game will proceed automatically. You will run into a Numemon, who will warn you not to enter Byakko City.

After the Numemon leaves, ignore its warning and turn west at the pillars to enter Byakko City.
Byakko City
Once you enter Byakko, climb up the first two sets of stairs and continue north.
Walk up the third set of stairs, then continue up the fourth set of stairs to enter Byakko’s Dome.

Inside Byakko Dome, walk forward from the entrance and climb up the ladders. Talk to the soldier (“Byakko Citizen”) and then climb up the ladder behind him.

Talk to the second soldier and climb up the ladder behind him. Continue along the linear path and you will get to the fake Byakko Leader.

Fake Byakko Leader Boss Battle
| Fake Byakko Leader Details | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Digimon | Elemental Weaknesses | Neutral Damage | Elemental Resistances |
| Numemon | None | Fire, Ice, Machine, Thunder, Water, Wind | Darkness |
This fight is mostly a story filler, as the fake Byakko Leader is actually quite weak. His two Numemon will hit for about 500 damage, and will take major damage from your techniques.
Once he is down to his final Digimon, the fake leader will occasionally try to use the Tag command, which will naturally fail. This will give you an extra turn to act, making the fight even easier.
With your Rookie Digimon around the level 20-22 range, and at least one Ultimate or Mega digivolution, you will likely breeze through this fight.
After defeating the fake Byakko Leader, the game will proceed automatically. You will enter the room behind him, which will turn out to be a trap.
The floor will collapse, and you will find yourself down in the Underground Cave.
Underground Cave
After falling from the upper floor, turn north and climb up the ladder. Once you get to the top, you will run into two soldiers blocking the exit.

With no way out, jump down the ledge, and then climb down the rope ladder to your right.

After climbing down the ladder, continue to the end of the linear path. You will run into the Numemon from Noise Desert.

Numemon will then help you escape. Once you are both outside, you will find yourself in Bullet Valley.

Bullet Valley
Following Numemon’s advice, you will have to head over to the Mobius Desert.
After Numemon leaves, jump down the ledge and then climb down the slope.

After climbing down the slope, turn west and continue to the next area.

You will then return to the North Badlands W. Cross the wooden bridge, jump down the ledge, and you will find yourself just outside the entrance to Pelche Oasis.
Continue to the Oasis, then make your way to the Noise Desert again.
Next up in the main story you will have to cross the Mobius Desert to meet the real Byakko Leader in the Mirage Tower.

Optional: Counter Crest
Before leaving Bullet Valley it’s worth obtaining a Counter Crest, which will be a major help going forward.
You can obtain the Counter Crest as a rare drop from the Tuskmon in Bullet Valley.
The Counter Crest is the best accessory in the game, and will make your progression significantly easier, saving you from some unnecessary grind.
A Digimon equipped with the Counter Crest will be able to counter physical attacks, dealing up to twice the damage received.
The area between the ledge and the slope is the best one, as Tuskmon is the only wild encounter you will run into.
However, keep in mind that the Counter Crest has a very low drop rate, somewhere in the 5% range. So be prepared to spend some time looking for one. Ideally you should try to obtain three Crests – one for each of your Digimon.
However, even a single Counter Crest for your main Digimon should be enough to get the job done.
