Alpacas are a type of farm animal in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. They reside inside the barn and produce Fleece every 7 days.

An adult Alpaca can be bought from Yodel Ranch for 4,000 G. Once placed in your barn, it is already fully mature and will start producing regularly even without being fed.

Fleece

A mature Alpaca will produce a full Fleece every 7 days, even if it has not been fed with Fodder or Grass in all of that period of time.

Fleece can only be collected using the Clippers, which is a tool available at the Blacksmith’s Forge for 1,800 G.

Once harvested, any quality of Alpaca Fleece can be placed in a Yarn Maker to produce a spool of Yarn with the same quality.

Note: Fleece at G, P, and X quality all sells for more than their Yarn counterparts. So if your Fleece is above L (Large) then it’s better to sell the Fleece itself, rather than making Yarn.

Acquiring Alpacas

An Alpaca purchased from Yodel Ranch should already be fully mature and ready to start producing Fleece, with no additional feeding needed.

Or you can buy Breeding Kits from Yodel Ranch. A breeding kit can be used on any mature Alpaca that currently has its pelt to induce pregnancy and birth in 21 days.

When a Breeding Kit is used to produce a baby Alpaca, the baby will mature into an adult in 14 days. But its growth will be delayed by one day in the event of a missed feeding, up to a maximum of 20 days.

Selling Alpacas

Alpacas can be sold back to Mugi at any life stage. The selling menu can be accessed by opening the shop at Yodel Ranch and selecting “Sell Animals”.
