Sheep are a type of farm animal in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. They reside inside the barn and produce Wool every 7 days.

An adult Sheep can be bought from Yodel Ranch for 4,000 G. Once placed in your barn, it is already fully mature and will start producing regularly even without being fed.

Wool

A mature Sheep will produce Wool every 7 days, even if it has not been fed with Fodder or Grass in that period of time. The quality of Wool increases with friendship level.

Wool can only be collected using the Clippers.

Once harvested, any quality Sheep Wool can be placed in a Yarn Maker to produce a spool of Yarn with the same quality.

Note: Wool at G, P, and X quality all sells for more than their Yarn counterparts. So if your Wool is above L (Large) then it’s better to sell the Wool itself, rather than making Yarn. For S, M, and L quality Wool, processing into Yarn will yield higher profits.

Acquiring Sheep

Sheep can be purchased from Yodel Ranch. Any new Sheep you buy will be fully mature and ready to start producing Wool when you receive it.

But you can also buy Breeding Kits from Yodel Ranch to breed new Sheep.

A breeding kit can be used on any mature Sheep that currently has its pelt. This will induce pregnancy and birth in 21 days. If a feeding during this period is skipped, the pregnancy is delayed by one day up to a maximum of 30 days.

When a Breeding Kit is used to produce a baby Sheep, the baby will mature into an adult in 14 days. But its growth will be delayed by one day in the event of a missed feeding, up to a maximum of 20 days.

Tip: Breeding is required to raise the maximum heart level of any farm animal.

Selling Sheep

Sheep can be sold back to Mugi at any life stage. The selling menu can be accessed by opening the shop at Yodel Ranch and selecting “Sell Animals”.

Note: A very small profit (1,000 G) can be earned by selling a Sheep after it starts producing P or X Wool. Usually it’s better to just hang onto it by that point though.
