Every year on the evening of Spring 1st, the Mochi Bonanza is held in Rose Plaza to celebrate the New Year. This simple festival is one of the only ways to obtain Mochi in the game, a key ingredient for several recipes.

Note that since your game will start on Spring 2nd, you cannot attend this festival in the first year of a new playthrough.

How to Attend

Attending the Mochi Bonanza is easy; simply enter Rose Plaza any time after 6:00 PM on Spring 1st. There are no special requirements to participate.

Note: Make sure you have at least one empty slot in your backpack to receive the Mochi prize at the end of the event.

Event Details

The Mochi Bonanza is a non-competitive event where villagers gather to pound rice into mochi. There is no minigame involved.

To begin the main event, speak to Mayor Thomas. After a short cutscene of the mochi pounding, the festival will conclude, and you will wake up at home the next morning.

Prizes & Benefits

After the festival ends, you will find 9 Mochi in your backpack.

You can also earn friendship points by talking to the villagers in the plaza before you start the main event with Mayor Thomas.
