Butter is a processed artisan good made from Milk. It can be acquired in two possible ways: by processing Milk in the Butter Maker, or by cooking up Butter as a recipe in the kitchen.

It is a staple ingredient used in many other savory and sweet recipes.

Note that Butter made in the Maker can be sold through the Shipping Bin. But if it’s cooked in the kitchen, it can only be sold directly to Huang’s shop.

Making Butter

Unlike other artisan goods, Butter does not have different quality tiers. So the quality of Milk used does not affect the final product.

Using the Butter Maker

The Butter Maker is a machine that can be placed in your barn to instantly process Milk into Butter. It only accepts regular Milk (any quality) and will not process specialty milk like Coffee or Strawberry Milk.

To use it, just drop milk into the machine and you’ll instantly get butter out.

Since the quality of milk does not change the sell price of the resulting Butter, it is most profitable to only use Small (S) Milk in the machine.

Cooking in the Kitchen

Butter can also be made as a recipe in your kitchen. You will learn the recipe through inspiration after using Milk to cook 5 other dishes.

To cook Butter you will need the Mixer, which can be purchased from Jeff’s General Store after you have upgraded your house.

Butter is a key ingredient in many different recipes, from main courses to desserts.

Gifting

Butter is a great gift for several villagers, and is especially loved by the Nature Sprites.

Selling

Butter made in the Butter Maker can be shipped for 150 G.

Butter cooked in the kitchen cannot be shipped and must be sold to Huang for a price between 148 G and 157 G.
