Matsutake is a valuable mushroom that can only be foraged during the Autumn. Due to its high sell price, it’s one of the best forageables to collect for profit.
They can also be used in recipes or given as gifts to many of the villagers in Mineral Town.
Foraging Locations
Matsutake can be found in two specific, hidden locations during the Autumn. New Matsutake will respawn every couple of days.
The main spot requires a Gold Hammer (or stronger) to break a large boulder. The other is unlocked by befriending Carter.
We’ve listed both locations below & marked them on the map to help you find them:
- Bamboo Thicket – behind the large boulder south of the lake
- Church Forest – behind Carter’s secret door in the church (requires high friendship)
