You can find Moonstone by breaking rocks with your Hammer inside the Lake Mine. They are found on specific floors: any floor ending in the number 8 (e.g., 8, 18, 28), and on the very last floor, 255.
You have a better chance of finding a Moonstone on higher-numbered floors.
Uses
One good use for a Moonstone is as an ingredient for crafting a Winter Sun via cooking. This is a recipe item that can be sold to Huang for a very high price.
