Scrap Ore is a common and essentially useless item found while mining. It has no crafting or upgrading purposes and is disliked as a gift by all villagers. Its only potentially decent use is to be sold for a single gold coin.

Finding Scrap Ore

Scrap Ore is found by breaking rocks with your Hammer in both the Spring Mine and the Lake Mine. It is a very common drop on all floors.

You will likely accumulate a lot of it while searching for more valuable ores and gems.

Gifting

Scrap Ore is a universally disliked gift. Giving it to any villager will result in a loss of friendship.

Selling

The only beneficial thing to do with Scrap Ore is to sell it. It’s recommended to drop it in the Shipping Bin rather than throwing it away, but you could also just discard it inside the mines if you need to make room in your inventory for other items.
