Lumber is a construction material obtained by using the Axe on branches and tree stumps found around your farm and throughout Mineral Town. It can also be purchased from Gotts’ Workshop for 50 G each.

Lumber is essential for various building upgrades and farm expansions. It can also be used to build fences.

Since new tree stumps and branch debris respawn every day on the map, you’ll never run out of Lumber for your building upgrades.

Acquiring Lumber

The Axe will turn Branches and Stumps into Lumber.

Just use your Axe on the various wood debris you find around your farm for some early-game lumber.

Tip: With your basic non-upgraded Axe, you’ll only be able to destroy singular pieces of debris at a time. Upgrading your Axe at Saibara’s Forge will let you use it more efficiently and with increased power, like to break larger tree stumps.

Also note that while your backpack can only hold stacks of 9 items, you can keep stacks of 999 in the farmhouse’s cabinet.

So upgrading your cabinet storage is one of the better purchases to snag from Gotts’ shop.

The farmer stores Lumber and Material Stone in the farm cabinet.

Map Spawn Locations

There are other places where you can find stumps and branches all around Mineral Town. They will typically respawn every day or couple of days.

These areas on the map will constantly respawn stumps, branches, and occasionally other debris:

Mother’s Hill
Meadow
South Forest
Beach

Purchasing from Gotts’ Workshop

If you don’t have the extra time or stamina to spend on farming for building materials, Lumber is also available at Gotts’ Workshop for 50 G each.
