The Fishing Rod is the sixth tool in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. It can be used in any body of water to catch fish & other items.

Unlike the other base tools, the Fishing Rod is not in your toolbox at the start. Instead, it is obtained as an introductory gift from Zack after a specific event is triggered.

Obtaining the Fishing Rod

To get the Fishing Rod, you need to visit Zack at his house on the beach when the following conditions are met.

Time	10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location	Zack’s Beach House
Weather	Sunny
Requirements	You have previously introduced yourself to Zack You have an empty slot in your tool bag

Zack gives the farmer the Fishing Rod. — Zack will give you the Fishing Rod for free if you visit him at the right time.

Fishing Rod Upgrades

You can upgrade your Fishing Rod at Saibara’s Blacksmith shop. Higher-level rods allow you to catch larger and rarer fish. These upgrades require specific ores and a certain amount of experience using the tool.
