Mushroom Log cultivation is a feature in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar that allows you to grow mushrooms in the mountain using special mushroom logs.

Once these logs are unlocked, they provide a steady way to produce mushrooms throughout the year. These can be used for cooking, requests, sprite donations, or selling at the bazaar.

How to Unlock

To unlock mushroom log cultivation, you must first unlock Arata’s bazaar stall by reaching bazaar rank 3 and completing his request, “Prepping for Some Heavy Lifting”.

After completing this request, Arata will construct the first mushroom log in the western mountain area, near Webby’s location. Once built, you can begin growing and harvesting mushrooms from this log.

Growing Mushrooms

To grow mushrooms, you need mushroom spores. These are planted in a mushroom log similar to how seeds are planted in your fields.

3 in-game days after planting spores, the log will produce 6 mushrooms ready for harvest.

Spores can be obtained in several ways:

Each mushroom log can hold one batch of spores at a time. Once harvested, the log can immediately be replanted with another batch of spores.

Mushroom logs grow spores year-round regardless of season, and they do not require daily tending or watering.

And grown mushrooms will remain in the log until harvested, so you don’t need to collect them immediately.

However, unprotected logs can be affected by summer storms or winter blizzards. These can damage your mushroom yield if windscreens are not used.

Mushroom Log Upgrades

After unlocking Heavy Lifters, you start with 1 mushroom log.

There are 2 upgrades available, each adding one additional log, for a total of 3 logs once all upgrades are purchased. Each upgrade takes two days to complete.

Weather Protection

Storms and blizzards can damage unprotected logs.

To fully protect your setup from these storms you’ll need 1 windscreen per log. So as you upgrade and add more logs, you’ll need additional windscreens to cover them all during harsh weather.
