The Nature Sprite Friendship System is a key gameplay mechanic for befriending the Nature Sprites.
Increasing your friendship with the five Nature Sprites allows you to obtain higher quality items, particularly non-crop and non-animal goods which include foraged items, fish, honey, mushrooms, and bugs.
By consistently giving gifts to the five Nature Sprites, you can increase each sprite’s Friendship Level. As a sprite’s level rises, the base star quality of the items you collect related to their item category also improves.
At the maximum Friendship Level (Lv. 50), items in that sprite’s category will reach ☆7 quality – the highest obtainable quality rating in the game.
Meeting The Sprites
You will first meet the Nature Sprites on Spring 13th, Year 1.
On this date you get a cutscene where the sprites explain that they need your help to collect Happy Energy, a special resource that keeps them happy.
After reaching Bazaar Rank 2, the Nature Sprite bazaar stall will appear in the northwest corner of the bazaar grounds, near Ramon’s Critters. From this point on you can visit their stall to spend Happy Energy and interact with the sprites.

Sprite Locations
All five Nature Sprites live together in a small house on the cliff east of town, which can be reached using the glider.
The sprites can also be found wandering around specific areas during the day, with each one having their own preferred location. At night (after midnight) they return to their shared home.

Leveling System
To increase friendship with each Nature Sprite, you must give them items related to their specialty category. This grants experience points towards leveling up your friendship level with them.
There is no daily limit to how many items can be gifted to each sprite. And the amount of experience you gain per gift depends on the item’s value, where higher value items provide more experience.
Each new friendship level also features three “bonus” items that award extra experience when gifted during that stage. These bonus items change as the sprite levels up.
Star quality improvements occur at specific level milestones: for every 4 levels gained, the base quality of items obtained in that sprite’s category increases by ★0.5 stars.
This increased quality level:
- Raises the item’s selling price
- Earns you more friendship points when giving the item as a gift
- Increases more of your total stamina when consuming the item

Checking Level Progress
You can check your Nature Sprite friendship levels and their corresponding item category star quality at any time from the Menu.
Use the right shoulder button to scroll to the sixth tab, labeled “Overview”. From there, scroll down to the Nature Sprites section to view each sprite’s current level and the star quality they provide for their item category. You can also see all of the Nature Sprites’ Cheer Time Effects gained per level achieved.
To see your current progress within a level, you’ll need to talk to the Nature Sprite and open the gifting window.
The progress bar is displayed there at the bottom right, showing how close you are to the next level and how much Happy Energy will be gained when reached.
Max Level Rosettes
By consistently giving items to a Nature Sprite, you can raise their Friendship Level up to the maximum of Level 50.
At that point, the sprite’s corresponding item category will reach ★7 quality, the highest possible rating in the game.
After reaching the maximum level with a sprite, a special cutscene will trigger when you enter your house. During this event the sprite thanks you for sharing with them and mentions they have a surprise for you.
The next day you will receive a letter in the mail from the sprite thanking you again and giving you a unique shelf memento as a reward for your friendship.
Easy Gifts for Quick Leveling
Some Nature Sprite categories are easier to level up than others, depending on the availability of items in each group.
Early in the game, focusing on common or easily collected items can help raise friendship levels fairly quickly.
