How To Have a Child

After getting married, you and your spouse can start a family with a child of your own.

Your child will progress through three distinct growth stages: Baby, Toddler, and Child. Each stage brings new dialogue, updated routines, and slightly varying gift preferences, so raising your child truly feels dynamic over time.

Note: Having a child is completely optional in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. If you never purchase the Deluxe Bed Upgrade from Wilbur’s Workshop, no child-related events will trigger, and you can simply enjoy married life as it is.

Requirements

To unlock the possibility of having a child, you must first get married.

Then you’ll need to purchase the Deluxe Bed Upgrade (3-person bed) from Wilbur’s Workshop for 50,000 G.

Once the Deluxe Bed gets installed in your home, the countdown begins.

The Nature Sprite’s Prophecy

31 days after getting the Deluxe Bed, the Nature Sprites will visit you and your spouse in a story event called “The Nature Sprites’ Prophecy.”

They’ll announce that your strong bond has brought forth a “fruit of your love” and ask which gender you would prefer for your child.

Then, 31 days later from that event, another event will trigger called “A Gift From Above”. This is when your child is born. You’ll get to choose their name and decide what they’ll call you.

Once your child arrives, their birth date is added to the in-game calendar and will be celebrated as their birthday in the following years.

Child Growth Stages

Your child grows through three stages of life.

First they’re a Newborn Baby, then a Toddler, and finally a Child. The Child stage is the stage they remain at for the rest of the game.

Each stage changes their appearance, dialogue, and daily behavior.
