Techniques are permanent upgrades you can buy that give you new abilities & actions.
All techniques are exclusively sold at Felix’s Fixings, the bazaar shop run by Mayor Felix. Each technique you buy will enhance a core game action: farming, fishing, or horse foraging.

Out of all these options, Double Jump should be your priority to purchase first. It unlocks two other farming techniques and it enhances nearly every tool action in the game.
Farming Techniques
There are three farming-related techniques, with Double Jump being the easiest to get. The other two are then built on top of Double Jump.
Double Jump
This is a prerequisite for Ultra Sow Technique+ and Ultra Harvest Technique+.
Once purchased, all farming and mining actions can be done with a double jump, while also covering a much larger area in a single action. The exact area scales with each of your tools’ levels.
This technique also lets you reach and explore areas of the map that would normally inaccessible with a single jump.
Ultra Sow Technique+
This enables double-jump sowing, where you can sow seeds and fertilizer to be scattered over a 3×3 tile area in a single throw during a double jump.
Ultra Harvest Technique+
This enables double-jump harvesting for your mature crops & fruits. So you can harvest crops across a 3×3 tile area in a single action.
Fishing Techniques
There is only one fishing technique in the game, but it’s a valuable one!
Reel Power
With Reel Power, you’ll gain a powerful new finishing move that can activate while you’re reeling in a catch while fishing.
This only has a random chance to activate while you’re reeling in a fish. Though once you trigger it, just quickly press the action button to reduce the hooked fish’s stamina at 5x the normal rate.

Horse Foraging Techniques
There are two horse foraging techniques you can buy, and they both offer a couple specific advantages over standard foraging:
- These techniques let you automatically collect all forageables without requiring any tool
- And they consume no stamina while you forage
Horseback Foraging Technique
While on horseback, just position yourself so that any resources you want to harvest are in front of your horse. Then left-click (or hit the action button if you’re on a controller) to break and collect the resources.
This effect works on grasses & herbs, ore nodes, and other field resources.
Horseback Foraging Advanced
To unlock this upgraded horse foraging technique you’ll need to reach Bazaar Rank 70. You can only do this in the post-game where you’ll raise your Bazaar Rank via donations to the Zephyr Town Bazaar Support Fund.
And while this is a pretty late-game unlockable, it’s still well worth getting! Though this technique is the most expensive purchase in the game at a cost of 12,000,000 G.
Here’s how it works:
While on horseback, you can hold left-click (or hold the action button on a controller) to continuously collect resources as your horse moves. This allows efficient bulk gathering across large areas.
