The Short Counter (ショートなカウンター) is a bazaar decor item in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. It is one of the two default decor items you start the game with, alongside the Sunshade Tent.
As a basic counter, the Short Counter does not belong to any decor series and provides no special effects. It serves as a functional placeholder until you can purchase or craft more advanced counters with series bonuses and effects.
The Short Counter is automatically available in your inventory at the start of the game. It cannot be purchased or crafted.
Counter Upgrade
When your bazaar rating reaches Village Bazaar rank, the Short Counter automatically upgrades to the Long Counter. Like the Short Counter, the Long Counter has no series affiliation or special effects, but it provides a longer display area for your stall.
Since the Short Counter provides no bonuses, you should replace it as soon as possible with a counter that matches your selling strategy. Consider these options:
- Farmer Counter – If you primarily sell crops
- Rancher Counter – If you focus on animal products
- Fish Counter – If you sell a lot of fish
- Chef Counter – If you specialize in cooked dishes
