Amethyst is a purple gem that you can get in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar.
It can be mined from Gold Ore Nodes at the Equestrian Park, dug up from dirt mounds on your Farm, or purchased from The Emp-ore-ium. But the shop will only stock this gem after you reach Bazaar Rank 4.

The quality level of foraged items (like Amethyst) gets determined by your friendship level with Ivy the nature sprite.
Increasing your friendship sprite level with Ivy boosts the star quality of all foraged items you collect. Quality increases every 4 levels, starting at ★0.5 (Lv.0) and maxing out at ★7 (Lv.50).
