On Summer 1 of Year 1, Ramon (Miguel’s older brother) will give you your first pet so you can join the upcoming Pet Show. After this scene, additional pets become available for purchase at Ramon’s Critters during each Bazaar day.
Pets can help herd your animals to bring them out to graze. Dogs herd larger animals, while cats herd chickens. The higher their training level, the more animals they can herd.
Each pet also comes with one of a few possible personalities: Gentle, Energetic, Shy, Mischievous, or Independent.
