Arata has run into a challenge he can’t beat on his own: a rare guardian fish.

For this request, you’ll need to catch one guardian fish and show Arata how you did it. Teach him the trick to finally land the elusive catch.

Prerequisites

  1. Golden Fishing Rod+ or higher
  2. (Recommended) Guardian Bait

How to Complete

Here are some easy-to-find Guardian Fish that can be caught using a Golden Fishing Rod+ in the town’s waterways.

Note: More kinds of guardian fish can be caught with a higher-level fishing rod.

Step 1: Go to any town water source that matches a guardian fish’s availability and cast your line.

When a Guardian Fish bites, a special red fish bubble icon will appear above your character to indicate it’s a Guardian catch.

Step 2: Catch the Guardian Fish! This can be tough because the fishing rod’s timer drains quickly, and you will need to follow 20 or more prompts. Missing even one will cause the timer to drop rapidly.

To slow down the timer, eat food with the Rod Durability Up (Lv. 1–4) effect, or buy the Reel Power Technique from Felix’s Fixings for 30,000 G to instantly reduce a catch’s stamina.

Tip: You can also increase the chances of hooking a Guardian Fish by using Guardian Bait. Craft it at the Blue Windmill using Fish Bait Stock, Weeds, and Fish Bones.

Once you successfully catch a Guardian Fish, deliver it to Arata to complete the request.
