The Brush is used to groom large animals such as cows, buffaloes, sheep, alpacas, and your horse. It does not work on chickens, cats, or dogs.
Brushing an animal once per day increases its Friendship stat. Additional brushes on the same day have no further effect.
Occasionally an animal can randomly signal that it wants to be brushed, indicated by a brush bubble icon above its head. Brushing during this time grants additional Friendship points.
Where to Get
You receive the Brush from Felix on Spring 5, Year 1, as part of the animal care tutorial.
During this event, Felix visits your barn and demonstrates the basics of livestock care, giving you the Brush, Milker, and Clippers.
How to Use
Equip the Brush, stand next to any large animal, and right-click to groom it. This offers a Friendship stat increase.
Animals with higher Friendship produce better quality milk and wool, and they perform better at events such as the Animal Show or the Horse Derby.
