The Hoe is a tool you’ll primarily use in your fields to prep them for planting. It tills bare soil so that seeds can be planted and crops can grow.

You can also use your Hoe to dig up dirt mounds that you’ll find scattered around the map. Digging in these spots can yield Medals, Gemstones, and occasionally other rare items.

The Hoe is a lower-priority tool to upgrade, but its highest upgrade tier is well worth it, allowing you to till an entire field in a single swing.

Where to Get

You receive the Hoe from Felix on Spring 2, Year 1, as part of the farming tutorial.

How to Use

Stand in front of your field and left-click (or press the action button if you’re on a controller) to till the tile directly in front of you.

To till multiple tiles at once, you can jump or double jump and then till while mid-air. This hits more tillable tiles depending on your Hoe’s upgrade tier.

Tip: If tilled soil remains unplanted for two days, it will revert back to bare ground.
