The Sickle is used to cut grass, weeds, wildflowers, and herbs that you’ll find growing on the ground while foraging. This tool can also be used to harvest rice and certain growable flower crops.

Additionally, the Sickle has the lowest Stamina cost of any upgradeable tool in the game, only costing 5 stamina points per swing.

Because most wild plants rarely grow in dense clusters, the single-tile swing is often the most practical way to use it while collecting forageables. Though the Jump and Double Jump actions are still useful to collect fodder from large patches of grass.

Where to Get

You receive the Sickle from Sophie on Spring 3, Year 1, during the Sickle tutorial cutscene.

Sophie visits your farm, explains how to use the tool, and starts a new request called “Sickle Practice”.

How to Use

Just stand in front of any plant or forageable you want to cut down, and left-click (or use the action button on controller) to cut it.

To clear multiple tiles at once you can jump or double jump and use the tool while airborne.

All Upgrades

Much like all other upgradeable tools, your Sickle upgrades will each require the Sickle as a material. So you cannot use your Sickle while it’s being upgraded.
